What is GreenRelease?
GreenRelease is a chemically reactive, non-petroleum, bio-degradable form release.
GreenRelease reacts with the alkali in the concrete to form a barrier film that inhibits the bonding of fresh concrete to formwork.
When properly applied, GreenRelease will provide a quick, easy and clean release of concrete from formwork.
GreenRelease will not inhibit adhesion properties of subsequent coatings to concrete.
GreenRelease can be used on various types of forms including wood, BB plyform, steel, and aluminum.
Surface Preparation
All surfaces in contact with GreenRelease must be free of dirt, oil, grease and other contaminants.
Clean-Up
Clean tools and equipment by scraping and removing old concrete.
Storage
Store material in an interior, cool, dry place. Material may thicken and even gel at temperatures below -7° C and should be allowed to rise to 10°C or more before use. Shelf life is one year in original, un-opened container.
Coverage
Actual rates may vary depending on type and porosity of surface and application methods.
- Aluminum, plastic, steel 1600 ft2/gal
- Medium density plywood 1300 ft2/gal
- BB grade plyform 1000 ft2/gal
- Dimensional lumber 800 ft2/gal
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the limitations?
GreenRelease is not for use as a bondbreaker or concrete release agent for lift or tilt up concrete construction. It is not recommended for untreated masonite, untreated paper or aliphatic soluble form liner. Not for use on rubber or poly-urethane block mats. Incompatible with rubbers, styrofoam and poly-urethane.
Will it stain the concrete?
No! GreenRelease will not stain concrete
Do I need to Mix it?
GreenRelease requires no mixing, it should be applied undiluted to various types of forms.
